From McCaskey Principal Dr. Justin Reese: Ready to open a new chapter in McCaskey Athletics

SDoL Community,

On Friday, we are proud to finally open the doors to our fully refurbished Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Stadium at the Barney Ewell Sports Complex, after a year-long construction project. We are expecting a large and enthusiastic crowd as our Red Tornado football team takes on Reading, and we want to ensure the evening is safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

If you are joining us, please plan ahead and arrive early. Here are a few important reminders:

  • All guests will go through our standard security and weapons screening process entering the stadium through the new main entrance on Tornado Alley.
  • The ticketing windows remain the same in Chryst Pavilion.
  • SDoL employees may enter free of charge with a valid District employee ID.
  • All students must have their valid student ID on their person. Students should be prepared to present their ID when requested by staff or security.
  • Students below high school age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.
  • Students and spectators are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship, remain respectful, and follow the directions of school staff and security personnel.
  • Please anticipate significant traffic and limited parking immediately around the stadium. Additional parking is available around McCaskey East, 1051 Lehigh Avenue. We strongly encourage families to use the East parking areas and allow additional time to walk to the stadium.
  • With the crowd we are anticipating, please do not wait until kickoff to arrive. Early arrival will make parking, screening, and entry much easier for everyone.
  • For safety and security reasons, no admittance will be permitted after halftime.

This facility represents a significant investment in our students, our schools, and our community. Friday is an opportunity to celebrate that investment and showcase what makes the School District of Lancaster special.

We are expecting a tremendous atmosphere and potentially one of the largest crowds we have welcomed to a McCaskey football game in many years. Come early, wear your red and black, and help us open the stadium the right way.

We look forward to seeing our students, staff, families, alumni, and community tomorrow night.

Sincerely,

Dr. Justin Reese
