On Saturday, May 16, our students recently participated in the Girls on the Run Lancaster 5K at Greenfield Lancaster, joining hundreds of participants from across the region for a celebration focused on confidence and perseverance.
The annual 5K serves as the culminating event for the season, giving participants the opportunity to celebrate months of hard work and personal growth. Students crossed the finish line surrounded by cheering families, coaches, volunteers, and community members who encouraged them every step of the way.
This year’s event marked the first time the 5K was held at Greenfield, bringing participants and families together in a new location while continuing the tradition of celebrating every runner and creating a welcoming environment for all abilities.

Girls on the Run provide students with opportunities to build self-confidence and develop healthy habits both inside and outside the classroom. The event also highlighted the importance of community support and the positive impact programs like this can have on students as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are proud of all of our SDoL students who participated in this year’s 5K and grateful to the coaches, families, volunteers, and organizers who helped make the experience so meaningful for our students! To view more photos, view them on our social media.
