As part of the School District of Lancaster’s continued commitment to employee wellness and belonging, members of M-ERG (Menopause Employee Resource Group), through the Office of Educational Access and Opportunity, recently attended the PA Menopause Conference 2026.
Edith Gallagher and Jacalyn Good spent the day learning alongside medical professionals, holistic practitioners, wellness experts, advocates, and community organizations from across Pennsylvania during the conference focused on menopause-related health and wellness.
Throughout the event, they participated in breakout sessions and discussions covering a wide range of topics connected to physical, emotional, and long-term health, including Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT), pelvic floor health, circulation and vasomotor symptoms, weight-bearing exercise, women’s health research, and the evolving understanding of menopause care and support.
The conference also emphasized the importance of creating spaces where people can openly talk about experiences that have historically been overlooked or stigmatized in workplaces and communities.
For Edith and Jackie, one of the most meaningful takeaways was leaving the conference feeling validated and and proud of the work already taking place at SDoL through M-ERG.
What began as an effort to create conversation and support around menopause and wellness has continued growing into an important employee resource focused on education, connection, and advocacy for staff navigating different stages of life and health experiences.
At SDoL, we know that supporting our employees means supporting the whole person. As part of our commitment to wellness and employee support, M-ERG continues helping create a workplace culture where staff feel seen and supported to have conversations that have too often been overlooked.
We’re grateful to Edie and Jackie for continuing to lead this work with openness and a deep commitment to employee well-being. Interested in working at the School District of Lancaster? Click here.
