New leadership for Price ES and Lincoln MS

Lincoln Middle School and Price Elementary will have new leadership for the 2026-2027 school year.

The school board approved Ms. Judith Veitia as principal of Lincoln and named Mr. José Iguina as interim principal at Price.

Ms. Veitia, or “Miss V” as she is affectionately known to students, recently served as assistant principal at McCaskey High School. A member of the McCaskey class of 2001, her career has taken her from support staff to teacher to administrator to principal—all in SDoL. Most recently an assistant principal at McCaskey High School, she also taught social studies for six years at Wheatland Middle School and coached varsity cheerleading for 12 years.

At Price, Dr. Camille Hopkins, Director of Schools, will continue serving as overseeing principal, but told families that Mr. Iguina earned the opportunity to serve as interim principal after impressing the hiring committee for Lincoln Middle School. Dr. Hopkins will provide leadership, guidance and support, while Mr. Iguina leads the day-to-day instructional and operational work of the school.

Mr. Iguina served for several years as assistant principal at Reynolds Middle School, where he has worked to a reputation as a student-centered leader.

For Price families and staff, this means continuity and added support. It also means welcoming a leader who is ready to step fully into the work of serving an elementary school community.

At Lincoln, Mr. Ryan Schlinkman in June announced his intention to step aside after eight years as principal and more than 25 years serving the Lincoln community as a teacher and leader.

As Lincoln welcomes Ms. Veitia and Price welcomes Mr. Iguina, SDoL remains focused on supporting students, strengthening schools and building communities where every learner can grow and belong.
