SDoL celebrates partnership with Touchstone Foundation at Feast of the Senses

On Thursday May 6, the School District of Lancaster was proud to attend the annual Feast of the Senses hosted by the Touchstone Foundation, a longtime community partner helping lead conversations around mental health, emotional wellness, and suicide prevention across Lancaster County.

For years, Touchstone Foundation has worked to break down the stigma surrounding mental health through advocacy, education, youth-focused initiatives, and community partnerships that encourage people to seek support and care for themselves and each other. The Feast of the Senses created space for those conversations to happen openly while also bringing the community together in support of a healthier Lancaster County.

That work closely reflects SDoL’s own commitment to student and family wellness. In our strategic plan, the district identified health and wellness as foundational to student success and made it a priority to strengthen social-emotional supports, expand wellness opportunities, and foster environments where students, staff, and families feel safe, valued, and connected.

We’re also excited to congratulate Lakeesha Bair-Myers, social worker at Reynolds Middle School, on joining the Touchstone Foundation Board. Lakeesha has been a dedicated advocate for students and families throughout SDoL, and her leadership continues to make a meaningful impact both inside our schools and throughout the broader community.

Thank you to Touchstone Foundation for continuing to invest in the mental health and well-being of Lancaster County and for being a valued partner in supporting our students, families, and community.
