The School District of Lancaster will resume meal distribution twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Sept. 1.
The district will provide two breakfasts and lunches on Tuesdays and three breakfasts and lunches on Thursdays. Families may pick up meals between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at any one of five distribution sites: Carter & MacRae Elementary, Hamilton Elementary, Reynolds Middle School, Southeast Middle School and J.P. McCaskey. Student ID numbers or badges are required to pick up meals.
There will be no distribution on Sept. 3 due to the Labor Day holiday.
Note: Students attending some childcare and before- and after-school programs, including through Lancaster Rec, will receive breakfast and lunch through these agencies and do not need to pick up meals.
Over the summer, the district provided one week’s worth of meals every Tuesday or Thursday. The final summer distribution was Aug. 25.
