Every year, hundreds of McCaskey High School graduates step confidently into their next chapter, ready to take on college, careers, and opportunities that will shape their lives for years to come. As these remarkable young people prepare to leave home, there’s one small but impactful way our community can stand behind them: making sure they have the luggage they need to carry their dreams forward.
For many students, the transition to college brings both excitement and challenges. A sturdy suitcase might seem like a small detail, but it can mean the difference between a stressful move and a confident start. That’s why the McCaskey Future Ready Center is hosting Pack Their Future: Class of 2025 College send-off, a donation drive to collect new or gently used luggage for this year’s graduates.
Through Tuesday, August 5, community members can donate suitcases, duffel bags, or rolling luggage that will help McCaskey’s Class of 2025 pack up their hard-earned hopes and dreams and move into their future with dignity.
Donations can be dropped off at the McCaskey East main office at 1051 Lehigh Avenue, or pick-up can be arranged by contacting Rohjae Smith at rnsmith@sdlancaster.org.
Each suitcase represents a message to students: We believe in you. We see you. And we support you. For a young person leaving home, often for the first time, that kind of support matters.
In a community as strong as Lancaster, where neighbors lift each other up, this is a meaningful way to show that graduation is not the end of our commitment to students, it’s a bridge to what comes next. Join us as we help them pack their future with confidence, pride, and the knowledge that their community is cheering them on.
