Three experienced school leaders will be new principals in the School District of Lancaster next year.
The school board voted March 16 to appoint Heriberto Cordero, Luis Diaz and David Krackoff, though their building assignments have not yet been determined. The district currently has interim principals serving at Buchanan Elementary, E.R. Martin School and Wickersham Elementary.
Buchanan interim principal Justin Reese was promoted to McCaskey Campus principal in the same meeting.
Heriberto Cordero is currently a principal at Fair Haven PreK through 8 School in Connecticut. Mr. Cordero brings 12 years of building leadership experience at the elementary and secondary levels. Mr. Cordero holds a Master of Arts Degree in teaching and earned his principal certification in 2007 from Southern Connecticut State University.
Luis Diaz is currently the Interim Co-Principal at JP McCaskey Campus and previously the Associate Principal at McCaskey East for three years. Mr. Diaz brings experience as a Coordinator and Assistant Director of Career and Technical Education. Mr. Diaz holds a master’s of education in educational leadership and supervision from Millersville University.
David Krakoff is currently a principal at Yearling Middle School in Okeechobee, FL. Mr. Krakoff has 12 years of building leader experience at the secondary level. Mr. Krakoff holds a master’s degree in English and earned his principal certification in 2007 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Krakoff is relocating to Lancaster from Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
