PSSAs are here! Here’s what families should know. Each spring, students in grades 3–8 take the PSSA assessments. These tests help measure student achievement and growth based on Pennsylvania state standards, giving us insight into how students are progressing and where support may be needed. We’re proud of the hard work our students have put in all year, and we’re excited to see them show what they know! Give our students kudos and encouragement on our social media.
As a parent, you can help your child do their best by using the tips below:
- Make sure that your child gets plenty of sleep on the days and nights of testing.
- Be sure that your child has breakfast before school. All schools will be serving breakfast for students during the testing windows.
- Encourage your child to do their best. Take their time in answering the questions but do not stress about the results.
- Let them know the test results won’t affect their grades and won’t determine whether they pass or fail.
- Make sure that your child attends school during the testing windows.
