Internships

Spend a semester or full year getting relevant career experience in the workplace

If you’ve already completed most of your high school credits and are interested in intensive career exploration an internship might be right for you. To participate in the School District of Lancaster internship program you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • 11th or 12th grade student
  • 2.0 GPA or higher
  • 90% Attendance rate or higher
  • Recommended by school counselor
  • Recommended by school principal

Each internship experience is customized to students’ career interests. Below are a list of current internship partners, but additional ones are always being added depending on career interests. Job Shadowing

Not quite ready for a semester long course? Consider a job shadowing experience. You’ll get the chance to spend the day on the job with someone in your career of interest to see if it’s a good fit for you. Interested? Visit the Future Ready Center at JP McCaskey or McCaskey East to learn about job shadowing opportunities.

Career and Technical Education

SDoL’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs provide students with opportunities for cooperative education. Cooperative education provides students with work-based learning connected directly with the career program of study. More information is available here.
