Keystone Kidspace is a dynamic learning space in York that provides hands on experiences designed to ignite imagination and strengthen real world skills. Through field trips to their York location and outreach programs like the Creative Gym, their team leverages our region’s legacy of making to prepare students for a successful future. Their mission aligns closely with our own commitment to student engagement and opportunity.
This experience came full circle in a meaningful way. Earlier this fall, our PreK to 5th Grade School Counselor at Martin School, Emily Kile, attended an educator night hosted by Keystone Kidspace. During that event, she won the Creative Gym experience. Rather than simply scheduling the visit, the opportunity became an incentive rooted in student achievement.
Our first graders earned the experience by improving their reading scores the most in December. Their growth unlocked a day of exploration, creativity, and scientific discovery.
Students made polymer snow, launched Alka Seltzer rockets, and experimented with air planes. What may have looked like play on the surface was grounded in powerful learning. Students explored chemical reactions in real time. They tested hypotheses. They adjusted their designs. They learned that when something does not work the first time, you try again.
We are grateful to Keystone Kidspace for bringing this opportunity to our students and to Ms. Kile for creating a pathway that linked achievement with exploration! ... See MoreSee Less
