ππ 4th Grade Explorers at Franklin & Marshall College! ππ
Our 4th graders had an unforgettable field trip to Franklin & Marshall College, where learning took place in a whole new context (literally!)
Students rotated through engaging learning experiences including:
π’ The Vivarium, where they learned about animal care, habitats, and animal welfare
π Virtual Reality Topography, exploring landforms and Earthβs surface in an immersive way
π§ Stream Table Investigations, modeling erosion, water flow, and environmental change
ποΈ Athletic Complex Tour, connecting health, teamwork, and physical activity
π College Student Q&A session, hearing directly from college students about the ins and outs of getting into college and what life is like as a college student (Thank you The Ware Institute for Civic Engagement!)
This rigorous community-connected classroom instruction experience directly supported Pennsylvania Academic Standards by strengthening:
β
Science & Technology skills through observation, investigation, and modeling Earth and life systems
β
Environmental Literacy by exploring how water, land, and living things interact
β
Critical Thinking & Inquiry through handsβon problem solving and questioning
β
Career Awareness & College Readiness, helping students envision their future as learners
A huge thank you to the staff and students at F&M for inspiring curiosity and showing our students what learning can look like beyond the classroom walls! π
