School Improvement

The School District of Lancaster developed a comprehensive plan for school improvement to guide the district’s work from 2022-2025. The plan provides strategic direction with the content reflective in each School Level Plan. It also provides the framework for defining the Portrait of a Graduate which will be released to the full district community when the final approved Comprehensive Plan is published.

In addition, the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires states to identify certain Title I schools for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (A-TSI) based on significant challenges in academic achievement, student growth and other areas. Designated schools work with facilitators to craft school improvement plans that set priorities and initiatives based on essential practices for effective schools.
